Darryl was born and raised in the small, picturesque town of St. Clairsville, Ohio where his interest in art began. At an early age, he became involved with art education and received numerous awards. Upon graduation, he was accepted into the prestigious Fine Arts program at the University of Cincinnati, later changing his major to Graphic Arts.

Today he and his wife live an hour north of Boston where he continues his interest in drawing and painting. His work is exhibited at a number of galleries in New England and Savannah, GA.

Darryl uses both a realistic and a impressionistic style of painting. He uses bold short brush strokes plus detailed brush strokes together. Exaggerated use of color and perspectives add to the drama of the paintings.

His main areas of interest for his paintings: Old transportation related items such as old cars, trucks, trains, bicycles, trolleys, etc. and presenting them in a new light. Architectural subjects, for example, historic buildings, homes, and similiar structures. Still Lifes including mostly assorted fruits and vegetables shown from dramatic angles and lighting conditions.
